Richmond Heights, MO (KSDK) - The results of the special election for Missouri's 87th District are in.
Democrat Stacy Newman captured 51 percent of the vote to defeat fellow Democrat Susan Carlson.
In August, Newman defeated Carlson by a single vote, but 102 voters were given the wrong ballots.
Newman and Carlson, both incumbents, were forced to run against each other after redistricting put them both in the new 87th District which includes Brentwood, Richmond Heights, Ladue, Clayton and University City.
