(NBC) -- It may be harder to get bacon soon.
A pork and bacon shortage is expected around the world.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the European Union's pig herd is declining at an alarming rage because the drought in the U.S. destroyed corn and soybean crops.
Many farmers have reduced their herd because it is too expensive to feed the animals. That may translate to fewer pork products in the store and less pork on your plate.
