KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - A southwest Missouri woman who says she shared her bed for years with her husband and his sex slave has decided she needs help defending herself against five federal charges.

Marilyn Bagley said she wanted to represent herself after U.S. Magistrate Richard Larsen denied her request last week for a new attorney.

On Tuesday the 47-year-old Lebanon resident told Larsen she wasn't sure she wanted to keep her attorney but didn't think she wanted to represent herself, either.

Larsen responded that he couldn't allow the case to drag on while she decided what to do.

Bagley is charged with conspiracy, sex trafficking, forced labor trafficking, document servitude and use of an interstate facility to facilitate unlawful activity.

She and her husband, Edward, are scheduled for trial in February.
