Kenneth City, FL (BAY NEWS 9) - It's not your typical party entertainment, but one man in Florida says he can guarantee a wild event you won't forget, by bringing an unusual guest to parties.

It has a vicious reputation; known for lurking in ponds, brackish water and, sometimes, your swimming pool. We've seen it time and time again, nothing ruins date night like finding a third wheel hanging out in the hot tub. But what if the tables were turned and you paid to party with it in your pool?

"You've had the Chuck E. Cheese party. You've had the clown party. You've had the jump-a-roo bounce house party. Well, when you say you're going to have a party, they go, 'That's nice.' We're gonna have a pool party. 'That's nice.' We're gonna have a pool party with a gator. Everybody comes," said Bob Barrett,
owner of Alligator Attraction.

The alligator's mouth is taped shut and the kids first get a course in gator safety.

"My friend and I were really scared of gators, but I'm not gonna be anymore scared because it's cool that all the stuff I never knew I'm starting to learn about," said Fiona Sierra, gator party guest.

Then the alligator, Burger, becomes just another guest at the party.

"Both of my daughter's have had their parties this way and been the first of their friends to do it," said parent Debbie Rubenstein.

Barrett needed a way to make up for times when tourism is slow at his attraction in John's Pass.

"Then, we had the idea of well if we do a home, and they have a pool, let's put the gator in the pool. People were very leery at the beginning, but it has taken off and people just enjoy it," Barrett said.

So if a gator shows up in a pool near you, give it a second glance; it may have been invited.

Meanwhile, Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said they are investigating Barrett's business.
