Clayton, Mo (KSDK) -- Laclede Gas and the Clayton Fire Department did not find any traces of gas inside the St. Louis County Justice center after someone reported smelling gas.
Some employees voluntarily left the building Wednesday afternoon, but there were no formal evacuations ordered, said a spokesperson for St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley.
Michael Hardy said he was in court and smelled gas. The odor got stronger, so everyone in the courtroom left the building.
Crews gave everyone the all clear and everyone was allowed back inside.
People in the basement of the St. Louis County Government Building also reported smelling gas, but that building also tested negative.
Laclede crews plan to check the pipes under the street.
