Hallandale Beach, FL (WSVN/CNN) - A 12-year-old North Carolina girl reported missing on Monday is safe.

The FBI says Abigaile Lefevers was found in a parking lot near Miami, Florida, along with the man accused of abducting her.

Authorities say the girl is safe and is being checked out at a hospital.

Abigaile's father said he last saw his daughter at their house on Sunday night. When he woke up Monday morning, she was gone.

Carteret County, North Carolina deputies say Abigaile had been in contact in recent weeks with the suspect, Timothy Newman, a registered sex offender.

Robert Lefevers says his daughter had his debit card with her when she left the house.

Authorities say Newman tried to use the card several times, and that's how they tracked him as he drove with Abigaile down to Miami.

Newman will face child abduction charges in North Carolina.

No word yet on whether he'll face charges in other states, as well.
