Rock Hill, MO (KSDK) - St. Louis County police have identified the man shot and killed Wednesday by a Rock Hill police officer.
The shooting happened outside a Conoco Phillips gas station on Manchester, west of McKnight.
The man has been identified as Kevin Worley, who used to work at the gas station where he was shot and killed yesterday afternoon.
Police released a photo of 25-year-old Worley Thursday.
The investigation into the officer-involved shooting has been turned over to St. Louis County Police
Investigators say Worley was in the passenger seat of a car in the parking lot when he brandished a weapon at a Rock Hill police officer.
He was wanted for questioning in connection to a home invasion.
Investigators say the officer recognized Worley as wanted by police.
Authorities will no longer discuss the case, but on Wednesday they said the officer involved is experienced.
That officer is now on paid leave during the investigation, which is standard protocol in many police departments.
