Union, MO (KSDK) - Three different weekend accidents in Franklin County have all claimed a life.
Missouri Highway patrol troopers say an early Saturday crash on Missouri Highway 100 near Route MM took the life of Richard Zufall, 22 of Gray Summit.
Zufall was westbound on Hwy-100 when his pick-up left the road, struck a tree and overturned. Troopers say the victim's seatbelt broke open in the crash, throwing Zufall from the wreckage.
Later Saturday evening, 32 year old Amy Erbes of St. Clair died when the all terrain vehicle she was a passenger on, travelled off Elmwood Church Road and slammed into a tree. Erbes was transported to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur where she died Sunday afternoon. Troopers say she was not using a safety device at the time of the accident.
And just after midnight Sunday morning, Benjamin Cochran, 29 of Pacific was killed when his vehicle left westbound Bend Road at Green Rivers Trail and collided with a tree. Cochran was pronounced dead at the scene. He did not have a seat belt on at the time.
