St. Louis (KSDK) -- A kindergarten teacher was surprised with $1,000 worth of school supplies.

OfficeMax representatives presented the box of goodies to Nicole Chatman at Washington Elementary in the Normandy School District Tuesday morning.  The box was filled with backpacks, paper, scissors, flash drives and a laminating machine.

Washington Elementary Principal Robin Vaulx-Williams nominated Chatman for the "A Day Made Better" program which honors 1000 teachers nationwide for their service in the classroom.
