East St. Louis, IL (KSDK) - A stolen East St. Louis police cruiser was involved in a three-car accident Wednesday morning, killing a Belleville woman and injuring another driver.
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of 70th and State streets. The chase began around 80th and State streets.
Police said there was a disturbance over a bus fare and the suspect, identified only as a 42-year-old man, hopped into a police vehicle and crashed into two cars.
Maxsimillion Quarles-Gaston, 41, died in the crash. She was in a vehicle that was struck. The family is asking that any donations be made to 'Christopher Ministries' Grief Support Group, which was founded by Quarles-Gaston in honor of her son who died.
