Hillsboro, MO (KSDK) - A Barnhart woman was handed a suspended seven year prison term and placed on five years probation for her guilty plea to forgery and felony theft in Jefferson County.

34 year old Rebecca Woods entered her guilty plea to the six charges in August and was sentenced Tuesday.

Prosecutors say Woods wrote checks from the Antonia school Parent Teacher Organization to herself between January and March 2011, with more than $8000 of unauthorized funds being spent on herself.

Woods never did explain what she did with the stolen money.

Judge Nark Stoll also ordered Woods to pay restitution of $5275.00 to First State Community Bank, and another $4330.00 to the Antonia Schools.

Under terms of her probation, Woods is forbidden to hold any employment where she would have access of oversight of any cash, credit, or debit accounts.
