St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced an updated schedule for I-64 double-deck construction.
Drivers can expect I-64 delays around the following schedule:
-Closed eastbound lanes between Jefferson and the Poplar Street Bridge beginning Friday, October 5 at 8:00 p.m.
- One eastbound lane, and 14th Street and 6th Street ramps, will reopen Monday, October 8 at 5 a.m.
- A second eastbound lane and the 11th street ramp will reopen by Monday, October 8 at 2 p.m.
- The eastbound I-70 ramp to the Poplar Street Bridge will be closed Saturday, October 6, from 12:01 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Westbound ramps between Poplar Street Bridge and Jefferson will be closed Tuesday through Friday nights at 8 p.m., and reopen the following morning at 5 a.m.
As a detour, MoDOT suggests drivers take Jefferson Avenue to eastbound I-44. Drivers may also use MLK, Eads, McKinley, Chains of Rocks or Jefferson Barracks bridges to avoid additional delays.
Scheduled work will not interfere with Cardinals' post-season home games or significantly affect other downtown events.
After this weekend, three more weekend closures on I-64 will take place to finish the double deck structure.
Future weekend closures will be announced, depending on weather and temperature forecasts, but construction is projected to be completed before the end of the year.
