Belleville, IL (KSDK) - A 28-year-old Centreville faces a 10-count indictment stemming from an officer-involved shooting in Fairview Heights.
According to court documents, the incident happened in the early morning hours of September 25.
Illinois State Police investigators said a Fairview Heights officer pulled over Dallas McIntosh for a traffic violation. After speaking with the driver, the officer returned to his vehicle to cite the driver. Upon returning to the suspect's car, McIntosh allegedly produced a gun and opened fire on the officer.
Additional officers began returning fire, striking McIntosh several times. Dallas McIntosh was able to elude police until crashing in Centreville.
The officer who initiated the traffic stop suffered a gunshot wound to the hand.
McIntosh was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, armed violence, unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. He remains jailed on $2 million bond.
