St. Louis (KSDK) - Charges have been filed against a woman accused of fleeing from police with children in her van and striking a pedestrian.
Anitra Prince, 27, has been charged with second-degree assault, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities say on Tuesday police began pursuing Prince after a shoplifting incident in Wellston.
Police say Prince struck a pedestrian at Dr. martin Luther King Drive and N. Kingshighway Boulevard. The victim was identified as a 60-year-old male and he was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Prince then allegedly continued fleeing from police, and crashed just north of the Edward Jones Dome at Broadway and Carr. When officers approached the vehicle they found four small children and an infant in the back of the van.
She is held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
