St. Charles, MO (KSDK) - The St. Charles City Council is going to debate a new plan Thursday night to allow live music at bars in the downtown historic district.
Right now, the historic preservation district doesn't allow businesses with liquor licenses to host live bands.
Some business owners say it's unfair that live music is only allowed at some businesses and at festivals like Oktoberfest.
People who oppose the plan say the problem is live music combined with alcohol and late hours.
Council members will discuss the issue at a 7 p.m. council meeting.
