Clayton, MO (KSDK) - A Ferguson man will spend the next seven years behind bars after pleading guilty to a pair of burglaries in a University City neighborhood.
37 year old Damon Petty admitted his guilty to the crimes before Judge David Lee Vincent in St. Louis County Circuit Court this week and was immediately sentenced to concurrent seven year terms.
Petty was arrested last year after being caught red-handed frying bacon inside the kitchen of a woman who returned home and walked in on the bandit.
Police were called by the woman after she and a friend detained Petty until investigators arrived.
Authorities say they also found property taken from the victim in the suspects pockets after he was taken into custody. Police later identified Petty as the culprit in a second burglary in the same University City neighborhood.
