St. Louis County, MO (KSDK) - A local Lindbergh High School parent died Thursday evening after suffering a heart attack while refereeing a soccer match.

Jim Duniven collapsed on the field during the LHS-Kirkwood varsity soccer game.

The LHS trainer and a Kirkwood parent, a physician, raced onto the field and immediately began performing CPR and used an on-site defibrillator. When paramedics arrived, they continued efforts to revive Duniven before taking him to a nearby hospital.

Jim Duniven passed away later that night. He was 57.

Duniven was honored as 'Referee of the Year' by the Missouri State High School Activities Association in 2005. He is survived by his wife and their two children.
