St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Two overnight hold-ups are the work of the same two men, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers were first called to the Dogtown neighborhood at 1:37 a.m. where a man and woman were ordered to the ground and robbed of a purse, a wallet, and the victims' debit and credit cards.

Police say the two robbers approached the victims as they were walking on Clayton Avenue at Kraft, then struck the male victim in the head with a gun.  The bandits drove from the scene in a dark colored sport utility vehicle.

Just four minutes later, two men matching the same description and driving a dark colored SUV robbed another man on Wydown at Skinker near the Washington University campus, police say.

That man was walking to his car when he was told to get onto the ground.  The armed robbers took the victim's briefcase, placed it on the man's back and stood atop the victim while taking his wallet and keys.

The two suspects fled the scene driving the same SUV described by the first two victims, according to investigators.

The search continues for the culprits.  Both of the victims who were struck in the head suffered only minor injuries.
