St. Louis (KSDK) - A dog left for dead after being shot twelve times and strangled with an extension cord was found in a St. Louis trash can last month. Stray Rescue stepped in to save the dog.

On Friday, with the help of a veterinary team and a custom cart, the dog walked out of the hospital.

He's been named Optimus-Prime after the superhero transformer.

Stray Rescue is offering a $2,500 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
