St. Louis ( KSDK ) -- St. Louis homicide detectives spent the afternoon investigating a suspicious death on the city's north side.
Relatives say the body of Aaron Karl Marshall, who was in his mid-60's, was found in his home in the 3900 block of Ashland. The home is near the intersection of Vandeventer.
St. Louis Police homicide detectives were on the scene, but they declined to talk to members of the media. A police department spokesperson Saturday afternoon said cause of death has not been determined.
Marshall's great-niece, Jasmine Taylor, says Marshall was a block captain in this area. Taylor says relatives are told the scene inside the home is "pretty gruesome." Relatives also say Marshall lived alone and the house had been ransacked.
