Hurricane Sandy: Ameren sending workers to help with aftermath

St. Louis (KSDK) - Ameren is sending more than 100 employees and releasing 100 contractors to southern New England for the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Hurricane Sandy, also known by some as "Frankenstorm," is expected to make landfall in New England early next week.

Ameren Illinois will send 50 linemen and support staff and release 100 electric and forestry contractors. They will leave Friday.

Ameren Missouri is sending 50 overhead linemen, safety, supervisory, fleet, and logistics personnel.

PSE&G in New Jersey asked for assistance Friday and has asked those willing to help to play to stay for up to two weeks depending on the severity of the damage.
