St. Ann, MO (KSDK) - Police are investigating after a group of kids reported a suspicious man who may have tried to abduct them.

Lt. Aaron Jimenez with the St. Ann Police Department says just before 5:30 p.m. Friday a man in his 40s or 50s pulled up to a group of kids between the ages of 8 and 11, hanging out outside of Northwest Airport Inn, just south of St. Charles Rock Road.

The kids told police the man pulled out a box filled with potato chips and set them on the ground, offering them to the kids.

One of the girls started to walk toward the man and his potato chips until her brother grabbed her arm and told her not to.

The man became very angry and took his potato chips and left.

He was last seen driving a white 2008 Chrysler Town & Country van with tinted windows and a blue bumper sticker. He was last seen wearing a red stocking cap with the letters "STL" on it.

The kids said that although the windows were tinted, they may have seen someone in the back of the van.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Ann Police Department at 314-428-6822.
