St. Louis (KSDK) - Betty Anne McCaskill, who played a role in her daughter's initial campaign for U.S. Senate, was remembered today at the Sheldon Concert Hall.
She made history as the first woman ever elected to the Columbia City Council in 1971, and went on to become a fixture in the Missouri Democratic Party.
McCaskill became interested in politics after President Harry Truman spoke at her University of Missouri graduation in 1950.
Betty Anne McCaskill was 84 years old.
