St. Louis (KSDK) - Parishioners at Holy Trinity Catholic Church did more than attend Sunday services this morning.
When they noticed that a fire had broken out at a home across the street, they ran to help.
"The smoke was so black, it was incredible. We were just hoping to get everybody out," said Dawn Marie Usangal.
There were four people inside the home, and the good Samaritans were able to rescue them before the fire department arrived.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
One firefighter was injured his leg when the floor collapsed. His injuries were minor.
No word on a cause.
