Fire engulfs 2 buildings in Jersey City

Jersey City, NJ (WABC/CNN) - Fire engulfed two apartment buildings in Jersey City, New Jersey Monday afternoon.

Authorities say the fire broke out in one building, then quickly spread to the other. Both are three stories tall.

The area had lost power from Superstorm Sandy, and a neighbor says the fire broke out just moments after power was restored to the block.

A New York news radio station reports an elderly man in a wheelchair was killed in the fire, and a firefighter was hurt after falling about one story.

There's no word yet on what caused of the fire.
