Army colonel, Harold Van Heuvelen, hears his symphony for the first time

(CNN/United News) - More than 60 years ago, as World War Two was drawing to a close, an Army colonel composed a symphony detailing the story of the war and the peace that was emerging.

For decades, that music lay dormant.

But this week, the U-S Army Band performed the symphony in Washington, giving the 93 year old composer his first chance to hear the work he created six decades ago.
