St. Louis (KSDK) - U.S. News and World Report has named St. Louis, Missouri as one of the best places to retire for under $40,000.
The article cites the Saint Louis Zoo, Saint Louis Science Center, Gateway Arch, and the areas 111 parks as partial reasons for what makes St. Louis so great.
Sports fans can also be treated to Cardinals, Rams, and Blues games, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital is ranked among the best in the country.
The report also says housing costs for retirees in St. Louis is reasonable with a median of $1,186 for those with a mortgage.
Other cities that made the list include and Albuquerque, New Mexico; Augusta, Georgia; Columbia, South Carolina; Knoxville, Tennessee; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and San Antonio, Texas.
