Mapaville, Mo (KSDK) -- A worker fell 40 feet inside a water tank in unincorporated Jefferson County.
The tower is located in the 4100 block of Plass Road and is the property of Jefferson County Water District #7.
The tank he was in was empty and was being sandblasted inside to prepare for painting. The worker said his safety harness broke and he fell to the concrete floor.
The worker was conscious and breathing. A medical helicopter was flying to the scene to remove the man.
The worker is a subcontractor and did not work for the water district.
