Sunset Hills, MO (KSDK) - A follow-up now to a story we've been following for the last month. An event venue in Sunset Hills has been sold and is shutting its doors. But for the first time, one of the owners of 'Two Hearts Banquet Center' is speaking out.

In our initial reports, we told you of a couple set to have their wedding there in June and a woman hosting her annual Christmas antique show there next month. They were among about 25 clients who were forced to change their plans following the sale.

Each of them received refunds on their deposits, and help from Two Hearts on finding an alternative venue. But we were told after the reports the contracts specifically stated clients would get 30 days notice about a cancellation of the event.

Also, NewsChannel 5 has now been told the last event is not December 31st, but rather December first.

"There was a lot of misinformation as if we were just locking up our doors. We could be gone already. We've already been sold, but my husband Randy and I elected to stay here to serve our 2012 brides and grooms and make it an easy and gradual close," explained Stacey Fish, who is a co-owner of the facility. "And thank you, St. Louis, for 23 wonderful years. It has been a privilege and honor to have the opportunity to serve you."

The Sunset Hills location was sold to a local laborers union. Two Hearts' St. Charles facility is still up and running.
