Rollover crash in Jefferson County leaves three injured

Valles Mines, MO (KSDK) - Three injuries was the end result of a one car crash in Jefferson County Wednesday night.

Officials with the Missouri Highway Patrol say a car driven by 19 year old Kenneth Vest of De Soto ran off northbound Route E near Sunrise School Road around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday after he failed to negotiate a curve in the road.

The car then veered off the left side of Rte-E and overturned in a ditch.  Troopers say Vest was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt in the incident.

Three passengers in the car were not wearing seat belts according to the patrol and all three were transported to area hospitals.

Jennifer Almstedt, 27 of De Soto, was seriously injured and was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital. 

16 year old Taylar McMahon of Potosi also suffered significant injuries and was flown by helicopter to Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital in St. Louis.

Another passenger, 17 year old Parris Hendrix, also from Potosi suffered minor injuries and was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
