Belleville, Ill (KSDK) -- A 27-year-old Belleville man was sentenced to 60 years in prison for killing a woman in 2008.

St. Clair County State's Attorney Brendan Kelly said Santoin Russell killed Karinina Polk and a jury convicted him in July.  

Polk was found dead on a second floor balcony at First Western Inn Motel on Collinsville Road.  Investigators said she was hit in the head with a tire iron.
