Dense fog advisory could affect Thanksgiving travel

St. Louis (KSDK) - There is a dense fog advisory for area counties, in effect until noon Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued the advisory for Calhoun, Crawford, Dent, Franklin, Gasconade, Greene, Jefferson, Jersey, Lincoln, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Phelps, Pike, St. Charles, St. Clair, St. Louis, Warren, and Washington counties. Light winds and surface moisture to produce the fog in the early morning hours.

Visibility dropped between half to one quarter mile, and drivers are urged to use caution during the morning commute and travel for the Thanksgiving holiday.  You can check road conditions on the KSDK Traffic page.

The weather is responsible for a few delays at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.  Many are to Chicago where there is also heavy fog.  Check the status of your flight before heading to the airport.
