(CNN) - RIM's BlackBerry smartphone may be the device of choice for many businesses, but some government agencies say it just won't do.

The National Transportation Safety Board is the latest federal agency to ditch the BlackBerry for Apple's iPhone.

It says BlackBerries fail at an unacceptable rate and at inopportune times.

Research in Motion, which makes the BlackBerry, had a three day global disruption last year.

RIM hasn't commented specifically to the NTSB, but has said it is quote: "committed to the mobility needs of government agencies around the world."

At least three other federal divisions have already switched and the Department of Defense is planning to relax its BlackBerry-only policies.
