Warrenton, MO (KSDK) - A rural Warrenton man accused of involuntary manslaughter and DWI in the August death of his girlfriend has been bound over to stand trial in Warren County.
Matthew Charles Menke will be arraigned next month after evidence presented at his preliminary hearing provided sufficient proof he committed the crimes.
Police say Menke and the woman got into an argument while she was driving Menke to his home. Later the victim took Menke and his friends to Warrenton, when Menke took the keys to the car.
The victim and Menke's friends all got out of the vehicle according to police reports, before Menke returned to the vehicle and began driving away with 21 year old Amanda Digirolamo attempting to hang on the hood as Menke sped away.
The woman eventually lost her grip and fell from the moving car, with Menke driving over the woman.
Digirolamo later died of her injuries at a hospital in Lake St. Louis.
