Aaron Sumida accused of Black Friday purse snatching

Fairview Heights, Ill (KSDK) -- Employees at the Fairview Heights Old Time Pottery held a purse snatching suspect until police arrived on Black Friday.

Fairview Heights police said the St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged Aaron Sumida, 25, of O'Fallon, Illinois, with theft from a person and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Police said Sumida is accused of grabbing a customer's purse and trying to run off around 2:58 p.m.  The victim ran after the suspect and her husband tackled the person to the ground.  He and store employees held the suspect until police arrived.

Sumida's bond was set at $100,000.
