Jefferson City, MO (KSDK) - The State Rapid Response Team has been activated to help employees who have been laid-off due to the closure of Hostess facilities.
The team will host Rapid Response meetings to help assist employees in filing for unemployment benefits, find available job openings in the area, give skills assessments, provide resume assistance, and help give them access to training.
The services are free and will be provided by trained professionals with Missouri's Career Center.
Hostess employees who are facing job loss are encouraged to file for unemployment insurance immediately and attend one of two meetings scheduled for the St. Louis area.
The first meeting will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. for Teamsters and Machinists, 4349 Woodson Road, St. Louis, Missouri.
The second meeting will be November 28, 2012 for St. Louis-UFCW from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at 300 Weidman Road, St. Louis, Missouri.
