Hostess St. Louis bakery closing due to strike
St. Louis (KSDK) -- Helps is on the way for Hostess workers who are out of a job in St. Louis.
The State of Missouri is sending its Rapid Response Team to St. Louis to meet with the 365 workers that are no longer at the bakery on North Broadway. The workers lost their jobs when Hostess decided to close for good.
For the next two days, the workers will meet with state employees from the Economic Development and Labor Division offices. They will help Hostess workers apply for unemployment and tell them about training that's available free of charge that will help them get back on their feet and hopefully land another job.
Teamsters and machinists are invited to the meeting at 4349 Woodson Road in St. Louis from 10 a.m. to noon on November 27. Members of St. Louis-UFCW are invited to the meeting Wednesday at 300 Weidman Road in St. Louis from 10 a.m. to noon.
