Public schools to get $10 million from Powerball jackpot

St. Louis (KSDK) - Missouri schools are getting a big boost in funding thanks to this week's record Powerball.

State law requires the lottery to give a portion of proceeds to education, so public schools are getting a $10 million cut of the jackpot.

NewsChannel 5 Education Reporter Sharon Stevens looked into how the funding program works.
