Buffalo, NY (WIVB/CNN) - Paul Ceglia, the upstate New York man who says he's owed 50 percent of Facebook, now has to pay the company almost six figures.

A judge says Ceglia needs to give Facebook nearly $100,000 in legal and travel fees because he canceled 10 planned depositions at the last minute. Some cancellations were less than 24 hours.

This whole saga started in 2010 when Ceglia filed a suit saying he paid Mark Zuckerberg to build a website that is similar to what became Facebook.

Ceglia says Zuckerberg agreed to split the company with him, but Zuckerberg says that isn't true.

Last month, federal agents arrested Ceglia for allegedly perpetuating a "multi-billion-dollar scheme" to defraud Facebook.

If convicted, Ceglia faces up to 40 years in prison.
