Clayton, MO (KSDK) - A man from the Baden neighborhood of north St. Louis, who was arrested in Minnesota after he was accused of killing two women in Ferguson this summer claims he's not guilty of the crime.
29-year-old Darnell Vaughn entered the plea at his arraignment in St. Louis County Court, and will remain jailed until his next court appearance later this month.
Vaughn is accused of fatally shooting Tasheera Johnson, 29 of north St. Louis County, and Claudia Williams, 30 of Ferguson, who was Vaughn' ex-girlfriend.
The two women were found slain inside Williams' home on Norlakes Drive in Ferguson on August 30, 2012.
Vaughn then fled the area and was later tracked down to the Minneapolis area where he was taken into custody by deputies in Hennepin County.
Three other people were charged in connection to the case, including Vaughn's parents who authorities allege helped Vaughn avoid capture.
