St. Louis (KSDK) -- All time December record highs could be in jeopardy for St. Louis.
After back-to-back 70 degree days this weekend, unseasonable warmth continues to start the work week.
According to the National Weather Service office in St. Louis, the warmest December day was 76 degrees in St. Louis, which occurred on December 15th, 1948 and again on that date in 1970. That record high could fall, as temperatures are predicted to rise well into the middle 70s this afternoon. Sunshine and warm south winds could push the thermometers towards 80 in some spots across the bi-state.
The strong autumn storm helping to drive our warm weather will send a cold front through the region later tonight, resulting in a cool down for the rest of the week.
