The Kansas City Star is reporting some revealing details in the Jovan Belcher tragedy.
The newspaper reports that police said the Chiefs were providing counseling to both Belcher and his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins as their relationship struggled with continued arguments.
The Star, citing multiple police sources, also revealed that Belcher leaned over, said he was sorry, and kissed Perkins just seconds after fatally shooting her in the couple's master bathroom. Belcher then apologized to his mother, who reacted to the gunfire, and kissed his 3-month-old daughter goodbye before leaving his home in 5400 block of Crysler Avenue and driving to the Chiefs facility where he'd eventually take his own life.
