Sauget, IL (KSDK) - Bones found in Sauget, Illinois Tuesday are human remains.

Currently, the police investigation is aimed at finding out the name of the victim and how he died.

Sauget police say a hunter found the remains in a heavily wooded area near American Bottoms Road. The skull, some teeth, and other bones indicate the victim was a very large man.

A pair of men's size 44 to 46 pants were also found near the remains and five Russian ruble coins were found in the victims pockets.

Police believe the bones and coins are connected and say there was some sort of trauma to the victim's head.

Investigators have collected evidence and the Illinois Police lab hope to have some answers by the end of the week.
