Franklin County, MO (KSDK) - A minivan crash in Franklin County Wednesday afternoon seriously injures a woman who lost control of the vehicle.

Missouri Highway Patrol troopers tell NewsChannel 5 Christie Bean, 41 of Ridgewoods, was northbound on Highway FF north of Project Road south of Lonedell at excessive speed just after 2:30 p.m.

Bean failed to negotiate a curve in the road and the van drove off the left side of the pavement, into a ditch and flipped over.

Troopers say Bean was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was severely injured in the crash.  She was airlifted from the accident scene to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.
