St. Charles, Mo (KSDK) - A St. Charles man is accused of choking his girlfriend's baby to death becauase she would not stop crying.
The St. Charles Police Department said Jordan Lafayette Prince, 24, was charged with second-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said officers responded to a report of an unresponsive four-month-old child in the 3600 block of Fremont on December 3. The child was flown to an area hospital for treatment where she died.
An autopsy on December 5 revealed the child died from asphyxiation.
Police interviewed the suspect and determined he was watching the infant while the baby's mother slept.
Police said the suspect told them he became frustrated because the child would not stop crying, choked the child and then left her on a loveseat. He said he came back an hour later and found the child unresponsive.
