TAMPA, Fla. (CNN) - A Tampa, Florida teacher, convicted of having sex with a student, wants a court to re-instate her release from probation.
Debra LaFave filed a motion with the Florida Supreme Court Wednesday.
LaFave made national headlines back in 2005 when she had sex with a 14-year-old student. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years house arrest and seven years probation.
A judge terminated LaFave's probation in 2011 after she convinced him she had gotten her life together, but in August, a higher court ordered LaFave's probation be re-instated.
LaFave wants Florida Supreme Court justices to remove her from probation, until they decide whether or not they'll hear her case or until they make a final ruling.
