ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - St. Louis Police detectives have their own rash of pizza delivery driver robberies to contend with in South City.

Thursday night, just after 8:00 p.m. a driver attempted to deliver a pizza order to a residence in the 7100 block of Virginia, but no one answered the door at the home.

The driver then walked towards the back of the home and was confronted by two men armed with bricks.  One of the men struck the female victim in the back of the head.

After falling to the ground, the second man struck the woman in the face with a brick, breaking the victim's nose.  Both of the men then ran from the crime scene.

The victim was able to make her way to Pizza Milano and call police.

Less than a week ago, another pizza delivery driver was robbed around the same time, at the same address.  He was hit in the face and lost consciousness.   He woke up to see his car being driven away from the scene.

Police have since learned the address where the orders were to be delivered is vacant.

No names have been released at this time and the search for the suspects continues.

St. Louis County Police initiated an undercover operation last month after a series of pizza drivers were robbed, including one in Dellwood where the driver was shot to death.  The alleged gunman in that crime was arrested and charged.
