JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - A man and woman were taken into custody Friday morning following an armed bank robbery in House Springs, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

According to Sheriff Glenn Boyer, deputies were called to the Eagle Bank in the 4600 block of Hwy MM around 10:15 a.m. for a reported robbery. A suspect walked up to a teller and gave the person a note indicating he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect did show the teller the weapon.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the scene behind the bank, running through a creek, Boyer said. The suspect got out the creek and entered a pickup truck parked nearby.

Around 10:40 a.m., deputies located a vehicle matching the truck's description traveling east on Hwy MM. The vehicle was pulled over and a 45-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were taken into custody.

Timothy Threadgill and Georgetta Rice have each been charged with first-degree robbery.

All of the money and the weapon used in the robbery were recovered.

Threadgill and Rice are each held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
