Kansas City, MO (KSDK) - Kansas City police released dash cam video showing Chiefs player Jovan Belcher being stopped just hours before he killed his girlfriend and himself.

It was around 3 a.m. when officers got a suspicious person call.

You can see officers approach the black Bentley, only to find Belcher asleep at the wheel.

He told police he was visiting a friend at a nearby apartment.

Officers told Belcher to head back upstairs, saying they were cutting him a break and Belcher agreed.

It was four hours later when his mother called 911 to tell police her son had shot his girlfriend.
