DE SOTO, Mo. (KSDK) - An infant died Sunday night following an accident on Highway 21 near Washington State Park.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Highway 21 at Route CC.
Britney Lachance, 22, was driving her Kia Sorento northbound on the highway when she lost control of the vehicle on the wet surface and slid into oncoming traffic. Her car was struck by a Dodge Ram, driven by 47-year-old Michael Stringer.
Four passengers were in the truck with Stringer and had to be taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital for treatment. Stringer suffered serious injuries in the collision.
State police said Lachance was also seriously injured and taken to Jefferson Regional. The infant, identified as Sebastian Garvin, was taken to Washington County Memorial, where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m.
